Happy Halloween 2010

We had a fabulous Halloween this year! We got pumpkins, carved them, dressed up all month, and even tried a little trick-or-treating!

Well, some days, that is when the party starts!
We drag ourselves out of bed and begin entertaining...

This is followed by 2 bottles, a daddy-run to starbucks, and back to bed by 7!

Gone are the days of sleeping in!

Why should Halloween be about 1 costume? When you are one year old, you get to choose what your child wears and it is probably the only year that I will have the final say! So we made a decision...for the girls 1st Halloween at home we would dress them as Roo and Pooh. There are multiple reasons...we all love Winnie the Pooh and Riley's nickname is Roo! The costumes were ordered and saved until the big weekend! Of course, during the month of October, I passed by a number of other adorable costumes! Well, a few of them may have fallen into our hands, so we kind of played dress up the entire month! It was a blast! By the time the big day rolled around, the girls were pro's! They LOVE getting dressed up! We began one day by dressing as Ducky's...these came from Grandma...we have had an obsession with duckies since the day they were born and she asked if it was okay to pick up the duck costumes for fun! Who am I to say no to a cute costume and photo opportunity?!?

The next costume was courtesy of Grandma Robyn! She bought the girls pink skeleton jammies...they turned out the be the perfect outfit for Gymboree! Meet Morgan and Riley: SkeleTwins!

Next, we have the Old Navy $3 bargin...what mother of twins could possibly resist this?

Pumpkin Carving

I had always envisioned carving pumpkins with my kids one day...I knew I could make it work if I put some thought into it this year. Why can't 1 year olds help me out? So, I stripped them down to their diapers, added a bib, set out a halloween tablecloth and gave them each a spoon. As I scooped out the pumpkin like a mad woman, they banged their spoons, played with the goopy part, and giggled! Honestly, the moment couldn't have been any more perfect!

The Pumpkin Patch

This year the girls were home in October, so I got to take them to their first Pumpkin Patch! We met up with our Twin's group on a beautiful October day and spent some time looking at animals, digging in the pumpkin patch and catching up on baby gossip! All in all, another great memory in the books!
